How a natural skincare start-up came to be
The vision behind Kompromisslos – vegan, ethical and efficient natural skincare from Switzerland.
While I was still studying for my bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Basel, I, Dominic Bertschin – founder and managing director of Kompromisslos – was drawn into working with people living with addiction. What started as a side job doing night shifts ended in a full-time position at a residential home. My passion for a deep understanding of human behaviour shapes my life, and my curiosity for unknown adventures eventually led me to found this company. Kompromisslos was financed with money from the sale of my parents' house, part of which they generously shared among us sons. That is why this vegan natural skincare brand can exist and act independently of investors.
I firmly believe that every person has a duty to use their individual talents and strengths to do as much good for this world and for humanity as they possibly can. And that's why I hope that, with Kompromisslos, I can make my own contribution to a better world.
At this point, I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me personally during this time, who still supports me and who will continue to do so in the future. A special thank you goes to Holger, who still patiently gives a valuable answer even after the hundredth question. Another huge thank you goes to all past, present and future customers, whose fondness for natural skincare forms the foundation of Kompromisslos. The last and biggest thank you goes to my parents: without you, Kompromisslos (and I 🌚) would never have come into being.

How it all began
When I first tried a hyaluronic acid serum in summer 2023, I was thrilled. Deep in research on active ingredients and the scientific evidence behind them, I searched in vain for a product that combined all the ingredients I wanted. So I also bought a vitamin C serum and a niacinamide serum – and every morning and evening I was busy unscrewing and screwing back on three different pipette tops.
This raised a few questions.

Two questions, one company
Is it possible to make a serum that combines these three active ingredients – and to offer it at a competitive price?
How can I bring the personal values I stand for and that define me as a person into a company in such a way that I can stand behind every decision wholeheartedly, every second?
And that is exactly how unspectacularly Kompromisslos came into being.
Since 2024
A journey into the unknown
You have to trust the process and overcome your fears again and again. Think through the worst-case scenarios and, with a healthy dose of humility, carefully imagine the best case. I don't dare to make forecasts – I'm too new to being an entrepreneur for that. The only sensible thing I can do is put all my energy into this project, grow with it and learn from my mistakes.
Kompromisslos has been on its way since 2024 – and this adventure continues with you.
