Classification
What does natural skincare mean?
There is no exact definition of natural skincare yet. Broadly speaking, natural skincare focuses on natural, sustainable and ethically sound ingredients and production methods. This can mean that most raw materials come from nature, that less energy is used in the production process, or that there is no animal testing.
Many raw materials carry certifications (COSMOS, NATRUE, etc.). However, as these are expensive, some manufacturers do without them. So a raw material without certification can be just as compliant with natural skincare standards.
